Unbelievable that those are the children I played with and loved when I was innocent and they were innocent. And I'm still innocent. But I moved, I left, and that makes all the difference in the world. Smart, beautiful, as smart and as beautiful as anyone you could know or imagine. Or at least they were, because drugs kill slowly. And what of that child? That homely, selfish boy who wouldn't for the life of him let me play my magnetic Catch-a-Fish! What of him? Him, who is now at MIT, him who rose higher than I ever expected or wanted him to. But he moved too. He left, and that made all the difference in the world. So between that spiteful boy and those beautiful girls, the scholar and the stoners, where do I fit in? What about me?

Finals were not as bad as I expected...finished all of them with time to go back and double check. So that's good. Friday night was fun...I was so relieved finals were over that I accidentally (ish) stayed out til 1:30...whoops. I gave this elaborate excuse to my parents, but they really weren't too mad, so that was good. Perfect start to my winter break. Christmas Eve went to a party that was much more fun than I expected. Good food. I got real Christmas presents from my parents and sister Christmas day, which was cool because the last time we did the whole wrap-presents-and-put-them-under-the-tree-thing was 5th grade and I got a pair of binoculars. The time before that was second grade and I got a printer. Wow, Santa really doesn't like me...(nah, just kidding, I asked for the printer). So...looking forward to a great break that I know will go by way too fast. I plan on relaxing and enjoying life. In terms of productive things: in addition to mandatory homework and some neat extra credit, I plan on making my hands grow bigger...or at least stretch farther.

Happy Holidays.

My birthday was pretty darn fun in ways that had nothing to do with the fact that it was my birthday, although I did have over two dozen chinese kids and a lithuanian lady wish me a happy birthday (80% of them i dont even know by name), plus i got sung to with an impromptu pink-candled birthday-mooncake (thanks guys!)...yup, that was nice. oh yes, and EMMA CALLED! yay! although i wasnt home to get the call...but still. then i went to sleep after my first day of being 15. and i dreamt about snowy hills, getting fired, hiding, infants, and mangos. Odd dream--good day.

Happy?

Another post: happy? hehe

Went to China over the summer. Fun. Favorite thing? Walking casually along some crowded street, chatting in chinese with relatives, crossing the street like you own the place (while secretly praying you don't get killed), turning corners like you totally know where you're going, and just pretending like you belong. I was born in that city, lived in there for three years, but even if it is home, I'm a stranger there. But, yes, it's fun to pretend I'm not. Least favorite thing? Public bathrooms. Don't get me started.
